EATING (East-Asia To Italy Nearly Global) VLBI workshop 2017

We are pleased to announce that the EATING VLBI workshop 2017 will be held in Jeju Island, South Korea from 30th October to 2nd November, 2017.

This will be the third of the serial meetings to allow the astronomical community to discuss and to contribute to the collaboration between Italy, Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan in the field of VLBI and related researches.

After the successful events organized by INAF/IRA (Istituto di Radioastronomia, Bologna) in 2012 and 2014, now the scope of the meeting is expanded to reflect the recent regional developments in the field, such as KaVA (KVN and VERA Array) and EAVN (East-Asian VLBI Network).

The main scientific topic of this meeting will be to improve our understanding of the physical conditions associated to the SMBHs in AGNs, but ample time will be allocated to discuss about stellar maser science, astrometry, geodesy and others. Moreover technology development and how to increase the research capacity of our collaboration will be discussed.

The workshop will be hosted by KASI (Korea Astronomy & Space Science Institute) with kind support from the National Research Council of Science and Technology.
